♥ Diamond Painting ♥ Kits
By chance, I found this picture of a heart, was intrigued by the concept, saw that it was something I could make, and decided to see if it was something I would like! And…I ♥ LOVED / LOVE ♥ IT❣️
Over the years, you may have noticed that I have also used these ‘heart pictures’ in the daily Heart Quotes. And, as a coaching tool, I continue to recommend diamond painting to everyone.
WHY? Because it lowers stress and anxiety levels by diverting your attention from the every-day pressure of life to a peaceful and calming activity. Simply sit down, zone out and feel your stress and anxiety subside.
♥ What is Diamond Painting ? ♥
Diamond painting is a form of mosaic art that involves placing small, faceted resin beads (also called drills) onto a canvas that has a pre-printed design. The beads are applied with a special pen/stylus or tweezers, following a color-coded chart that corresponds to the symbols on the canvas. The result is a sparkling picture that resembles a cross between a painting and a cross-stitch embroidery.
Diamond painting is also known as painting with diamonds, diamond art, diamond dotz, diamond dots, or 5d diamond painting. The term 5D refers to the fact that the beads have five facets, which give them a shiny and realistic appearance. Diamond painting is similar to color by numbers or paint by numbers, but instead of using paints, you use tiny gems to fill in the spaces. Diamond art is great for school age children and above. Here are two Heart pictures that I have completed. These paintings were kits:
The Heart on the left is 25cm x 25cm/9.84 x 9.84 inches; the heart on the right is 30cm x 25cm/11.81 x 9.84 inches.
I have also learned how to do ‘custom‘ diamond painting, that is, take a picture of anyone or anything and create a personalized diamond painting. My neighbor collects Lady Head Vases. It is listed for $1,395 on eBay. So, I took that picture (on the left) and recreated another picture more suitable for doing diamond painting. The picture on the right is the finished diamond painting. (30cm x 30cm square drill)
