About Margaret Pappas
I lived the first half of my life on the east coast in New Jersey and the other half on the west coast. I came to California because a colleague (where I worked as a high school librarian/media specialist), came up to me one day and said ‘Margaret, you should be a marriage and family therapist. I am getting a master’s degree in California and you should do the program also!”
So ‘California here I come/came!”
I had no idea what I was getting into. I did not know that if you want to be a therapist, you must work on yourself before you can work/help others. So, I began working on myself. I took many classes, read many books, and saw many diverse therapists. As I went from therapist to therapist, I realized that I kept retelling my family alcoholic system’s story a gazillion times. I kept re-wounding myself over and over again… with no solutions!
After two years of intense therapy, I knew in my heart that…
“There must be a better way!”
…And I was desperate to find it.
