I spent the first half of my life on the East Coast in New Jersey and the second half on the West Coast. My journey to California wasn’t carefully planned—it came from a simple, unexpected conversation.

One day, while working as a high school librarian/ media specialist, a colleague walked up to me and said,
“Margaret, you should be a marriage and family therapist! I’m pursuing a master’s degree in California, and you should do the program too!”

The idea took me by surprise, but something about it resonated. And so—California, here I come!

At the time, I didn’t realize that becoming a therapist meant first doing my own inner work. It wasn’t just about learning techniques—it was about understanding myself. I read every book I could find, took countless classes, and worked with a variety of therapists.

But as I moved from one therapist to another, I kept retelling the same story—my family’s alcoholic system—again and again. Each time, I reopened old wounds without finding real solutions. The cycle felt endless.

Then, after two years of therapy, something clicked.

“There must be a better way!”

That realization changed everything. It wasn’t just about revisiting the past—it was about finding a way forward.

As A Course in Miracles states, “That you DO listen to the voice of your ego is demonstrated by your attitudes, your feelings and your behavior. Yet this is what you want. This is what you are fighting to keep, and what you are vigilant to save. Your mind is filled with schemes to save the face of the ego…You cannot change your mind by changing your behavior…but you CAN change your mind.” (T-4.IV.)

I GET IT NOW!!!

All this time, I had focused on my dysfunctional behavior. I knew in my heart that I was a kind and compassionate person, yet my actions often failed to reflect that truth. I was stuck—trapped in an old belief system that no longer served me.

Then, I realized the key wasn’t just changing what I did—it was changing how I thought. I had to undo the beliefs that kept me bound to fear and limitation. So, I committed to a different path. Through years of research, study, and personal reflection, I discovered the mind tools that would help me embody the person I always knew I could be.

I worked hard—and I still do. Every day, I apply these tools to retrain my thinking, shifting from fear-based thoughts to love-based ones. Now, when people ask what I “do,” I tell them:

“I give you HOPE—hope that there is a better way.”

Let me teach you simple, practical tools to facilitate and sustain a true, lasting transformation—one that leads to peace and happiness.

I invite you to walk this journey with me. Together, let’s rediscover the love and freedom that have always been ours to claim.
